My initial impression of learning about muscles and treatment techniques was that it would be difficult, I soon realized that muscles only have two properties or states. The first state is to contract (or to shorten) and the other is to not contract (or relax). The muscle has the ability to transition back and forth between these states through motor neurons and mechanoreceptors that command the muscle fibers to shorten or not. The techniques I implement target these different motor neurons and mechanoreceptors to get the muscle to lengthen and relax for a deeper and longer lasting treatment.
